How to choose
Edit before shrinking
Remove low-relevance bullets, repeated skills, and old detail before reducing font size or spacing. Readability is more important than forcing an arbitrary page count.
Keep recent evidence specific
Give the most relevant role or project enough space to show ownership and results. Compress older experience rather than giving every entry equal weight.
Use two pages when needed
Senior leadership, research, publications, and long technical histories may need a second page. A clear two-page resume is better than an unreadable single page.
When a one-page resume is the wrong target
